Community Make A Blanket Workshop Tomorrow 10/11/14

This is a last minute reminder that tomorrow is the Project Linus Community Make a Blanket Workshop event at the Valencia Mall in the courtyard area near Sears and Red Robin. It will run from 10am to 9pm. I went last year and it is a lot of fun. It's really heart warming to see so many people all working on blankets at the same time.

Anybody, any age, can participate in this event, however, if you are under 14 years old, a parent needs to show up with you and a permission form needs to be signed. Here is the link for more information: http://scvprojectlinus.org/updates/

If you are coming, try to bring your own fleece to work on if possible, and your own scissors. I will bring some extra fleece with me, but I can only stay for a little while. I should be there around 11AM.

Red Robin is also participating in this fundraiser event, and will be donating 10-15% of sales if you give them a flyer from Project Linus. They will have the flyers for Red Robin at the check in table.

Finally, if you need service hours for a club, like CJSF, or girl scouts, bring your service hours form and it will be signed for you for the hours you spend there working on the blankets.

Welcome to Project Linus 2014-15

Hey everyone!!! We had our first official meeting last Tuesday, and we had an amazing turnout!! I love how Rio has so many students who are eager to help other children in need. Please check out the links for Project Linus National Organization and the SCV/Sylmar Project Linus Chapter.

Our next meeting is on Tuesday, Sept. 30th during Advisory, so if you did not get your binder reminder stamped come see me some time before then to get stamped.

Reminder: there is a fundraiser being held at Chili's restaurant on September 24th. See the attached flyer.

Remember, anyone can make a blanket for Project Linus, so if you talk about this with your family, and someone in your family wants to make a blanket, that is great!! There is no deadline of when a blanket needs to completed, so whenever a blanket is completed, just turn it into Mrs. Moore. When we have a few completed blankets collected, we will then turn them over to the SCV/Sylmar Project Linus Chapter.
