As you may know, Project Linus makes new, washable, handmade blankets for critically ill and traumatized children both in our community and in cities throughout our country. When there is a national disaster or traumatizing event, Project Linus is there to bring gifts of love and hope to children in extreme distress. In less that one year, the Santa Clarita Valley / Sylmar chapter comforted OVER 450 children who faced extreme trauma and/or illness.
It is with extreme pleasure that I announce that the Santa Clarita Valley / Sylmar Chapter of Project Linus is having our first ever "Make a Blanket Day" as well as our 1st birthday party on Saturday, February 15th from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm at the Westfield Valencia Town Center Mall located at 24201 Valencia Blvd., Valencia, CA phone number (661) 287-9050.
We will be making blankets inside the mall in front of Sears downstairs and Red Robin as well as in other locations around the mall. We want to invite everyone to join us in this heartwarming event that will bring donors, beneficiaries, and crafters together. Please see the attached flier for additional information such as parental consent for younger children and guidelines for children under 14. Service hours will be granted to students who need them. *Please also use the chapter website to sign up / RSVP for this event. www.scvprojectlinus.org
